Had LA been one of the keys to Brooklyn winning a NBA Championship, he probably gets into the Hall of Fame when he retires. All but 2 people in NBA history, are in the Hall of Fame after reaching the 20,000 point mark. Aldridge was a 7x All-Star and made 5 All-NBA teams. It's going to be close for him. If Chris Webber isn't in the HOF, he shouldn't be either.

    • Smash 67

      Smash 67

      12 天 前

@Crypto say you shoot 50% at mid range and %35 at three, the three is more efficient because after 10 shots the threes would’ve given you 10.5 points while the twos would’ve only given you 10

    • Angry Mobsters

      Angry Mobsters

      12 天 前

@Crypto I agree. You simply are more devastating if you can consistently hit the mid range. You can actually use angles and you are closer to the basket so you can get to the rim easier. Joel Embid is killing it right now cause he is actually utilizing his inside and mid range game instead of being a soft guy that chucked way to many 3s years prior. I would say its just as effective if not more than 3s. Its just simply the fact that guys are avoiding it cause of the trend of 3s and many players of the league simply don't have a mid range game. Its just like the skyhook. People will be quick to label it as not efficient yet its the fact that people are simply avoiding the inside game and aren't willing to learn these moves to where they are consistent. In 1980 in the lakers vs 76ers series. Kareem scored 73% of the time throughout the whole series. That is extremely efficient and strategically speaking its more effective since you were playing inside, you are creating frustration of foul trouble against the opposing teams and also creating shots off double teams with appropriate spacing off the post. People just avoid it or don't practice that part of the game anymore. Its like in the 80s where guys didn't practice the 3pt shot. Only now its the midrange and post with the exception of a few players obviously

Mid-range is a waste in today’s NBA. If he were smart he would have abandoned it long ago.

    • Crypto

      Crypto

      12 天 前

@Smash 67 less efficient? I think it's more efficient if you think about it on the long run. The mid range can become mega efficient for helping a team make a quick comeback. Unlike the 3 you dont have to find a spot where the defense already knows how to prepare for where from the mid range it's easier to use post tactics to make sure your shot goes in.

    • Smash 67

      Smash 67

      13 天 前

It’s not that people pretend mid range isn’t a thing, it’s that the mid range shot is a lot less efficient than the three point shot, that’s why people shot them less now

He was too greedy wanting to be a starter. He is good but clearly out of his prime at age 35. Most players his age would just join a superteam, and play around 10 minutes per game off the bench. Him wanting to be a starter also made deandre jordan mad, since he is younger and somewhat still in his prime. Plus, Deandre joined the Nets about a year before Aldridge did.
